Need something to go with that pasta or soup? Try some garlic bread. It even works well in salads--the texture and taste make it stand out in those dishes.

4 tablespoons butter (approximately)
Garlic powder
Crusty bread, cut diagonally into 8 one-inch slices (French or Italian bread works best)
2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil
Salt and pepper to taste

Spread the butter evenly on each side of the bread. Next, sprinkle the bread with garlic powder--how much is up to you. Mix the parsley and basil in a separate bowl, and then spoon evenly onto the bread. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes.
